PROTOJE released his latest studio album "In Search of Lost Time"

At 39 Protoje returns with a new ten-track project called “In Search Of Lost Time”. For this album he teamed up with In.Digg.Nation Collective, Six Course and RCA Records. "In Search Of Lost Time" is inspired by Proust's literature, while offering a colorful reggae that brilliantly combines analog and digital. From Marcel “Proust” to Protoje

Protoje has always delivered conscious and philosophical words, thoughtful and sharp. On each of his albums the major subject, so far, remains "time". It is therefore not surprising that Protoje is of particular interest to Marcel Proust and his rejection of time as a disjunction between oneself and oneself. Marcel Proust was a French novelist, critic, and essayist who wrote the monumental novel (In Search of Lost Time; earlier rendered as Remembrance of Things Past), published in seven parts between 1913 and 1927. He is considered by critics and writers to be one of the most influential authors of the 20th century.

An interest so deep that Protoje gave his new album the name of one of Proust's greatest works. This new project sweeps over a number of subjects: one goes from love of one's neighbor to that of Protoje's youth, precisely from its highs to its lows. It also discusses topics related to various social issues facing Jamaica as well as the future of its youth. As a songwriter, Protoje makes a difference by providing lyrics that create concrete images for the listener, allowing them to identify with and take a step back from themselves. Protoje has built its name and aura on solid and massive roots reggae tunes. With this new opus he takes risks and apprehends life and the world with new perspectives. Musically, he made a notable shift towards sounds straight from Rap and R&B while keeping a purely reggae revival base. The album brings together four collaborations across ten tracks, including one with rising Jamaican star Koffee and Lila Iké. The other two collaborations are with Popcaan for the song “Like Royalty” and “A Vibe” with rapper Wiz Khalifa.
